The Netherlands’ largest language walk

The Social City Walk is for everyone who wants to learn Dutch better. And for Rotterdammers who want to help with that. Whether you have lived here for years or have only just arrived: you are welcome. Together we walk five kilometres through the city. Along the way there is a coffee stop with music.

Programme

Gathering time: 18:45 – 19:15
Walk: 19:15 – 21:00

At the start, everyone is divided into groups of 10 to 16 people. In each group, you talk in pairs. During the walk, you switch conversation partners and talk about topics that interest you. This way, talking together comes naturally. The walk is for adults only. Children and dogs therefore cannot come along.

The event lasts 2 hours in total, but the walk itself is a little shorter. You walk approximately 5 kilometres. We also walk if there is a little rain. To be on the safe side, bring an umbrella.

About the partners

Walking & Talking was founded in 2019 by Annelies Maris and Masha Neeteson-Nikolaeva. The foundation aims to support integration and equal opportunities for adult second-language learners, while creating connections and encounters between people in the city.
