The Suitcase Story of Gandolfo Profita
On Sunday 2 November, Dante Alighieri Rotterdam is hosting a cultural afternoon where Daniela Tasca will talk with Enza Profita about the suitcase story of her father.
Gandolfo Profita worked at Hunter-Douglas in Rotterdam, just like many other migrant workers in the 1960s. Working abroad was the only way to support his family. In the evenings he attended language classes through his employer, where he received a Dutch workbook made for Italian migrant workers.
During this programme, Enza will also say farewell to her role as a language teacher at Dante Rotterdam, where she has been active for more than thirty years. After the talk, there will be time to enjoy a drink together.
Practical information
This programme takes place after the annual members’ meeting of Dante Alighieri Rotterdam. From 4:45 PM it will be open to members and other visitors. The event is free, but we kindly ask you to register in advance via this link. The event will be in Dutch.
