Floating Pasar
A family festival with music, dance, food, stories and connection.
On 15 August, we commemorate the end of the Second World War in South-East Asia. After the commemoration, we celebrate freedom during Floating Pasar.
Two-day family festival
Floating Pasar is a cultural family festival where food, music, art and stories from the Indisch, Indonesian, Moluccan and Papuan diasporas come together. On and around Fenix Plein, you will find stalls with food from various cuisines of the Indonesian diaspora. Around this, there is a programme with live performances, workshops, storytellers, historical walks, exhibitions and a market.
Floating Pasar moves to Fenix
This year, the festival will take place at a new location: the quay by Fenix. This place carries a long history of migration and connects with the essence of Floating Pasar, where sharing stories, traditions and cultural exchange within the Indisch and wider diaspora community are central.
The move marks a new phase for the festival. With more space for meeting, depth and imagination, there is room to further expand the programme and give new stories a place.
