Personal perspectives

Art Collective brings together artists from diverse backgrounds and makes space for their varied stories and perspectives. Here, it’s about the people behind the work and the personal narratives they share through their art.

Visitors become part of the creative process. You meet the artists in person, see how they make their work, what materials they use, and how ideas take shape. You don’t just look at art, you experience how it comes to life.

For this edition, UID has selected 25 artists. In their studios, you discover design, artworks, fashion, and jewellery. The work is on display and for sale. Talk to the artists and add a new, affordable piece to your collection.

Art, creativity, and cultural diversity shape life in Rotterdam, and Art Collective reflects exactly that.

Workshop The Traveler Buddy by Maas & Mean

In this workshop, you create a playful companion to take with you on a journey through memory, imagination, and material exploration. Without a fixed outcome, you reconnect with your inner child and let personal experiences shape your creation. At the end, you take your Buddy home. A personal companion and reminder that play and creative freedom are always present, at any moment in your life.

The workshop is suitable for (young) adults and families. A maximum of six participants may join at a time. All materials and tools are provided, and a small donation for materials is requested. You can join at any time.

Saturday: 11 am to 6 pm
Sunday: 11 am tot 3 pm

About Unity in Diversity

Unity in Diversity Rotterdam is a cultural foundation that creates space for emerging artists, self-taught makers, and creatives shaping their voices within the cultural field. They bring artists together, encourage knowledge sharing, and create concrete opportunities to make, show, and explore work. In collaboration with city partners, they organise festivals, exhibitions, and art fairs that focus on development, visibility, and connection.

UID is not a gallery, but an open and accessible context where makers can grow, collaborate, and expand their network. They actively contribute to Rotterdam’s cultural diversity by creating spaces where different backgrounds, perspectives, and stories meet.

Unity in Diversity believes that creativity emerges from who people are and where they come from.
