At Fenix, students encounter different perspectives on migration. Through stories told by international artists, they explore themes such as love, saying goodbye, finding home, happiness and hope.

In All Directions, students in the later years of secondary education can follow a school route around the theme of identity. Using a booklet with questions, activities and drawing assignments, students explore the exhibition independently.

“Can new encounters change you?”
School route: Identity
With this school route, students explore six artworks from the Fenix collection. Along the way, they encounter different perspectives from artists on migration and identity.
The activities encourage students to look closely at the artworks and make a personal connection with what they see. They explore how artists represent these themes, while also thinking about what they mean to them personally.
Questions include: Are you always the same person when you are with friends, at school or at home? Do you show different sides of yourself in different places? What gives you strength? Can new encounters change you?
The school route was designed and illustrated by Vormlust. Students can keep their booklet and take it home after their visit.
Please note that the school routes are only available in Dutch. International students can explore the museum at their own pace.
Plan your visit
• At least 1 supervisor is required for every 10 students.
• Admission is free for students, teachers and accompanying supervisors.
• After making a reservation, you will receive an email with practical information and your museum tickets.
Prepare for your visit
Students get more out of their visit when they are well prepared. Talk to them about where they are going and what they can expect at Fenix. Going over the museum rules together beforehand also helps make the visit enjoyable for everyone.
